Brenda Faye Huckabee, lovingly known as “Nanny Faye,” passed away on Dec. 20, 2025, in Hamlet, North Carolina.
Brenda was a devoted homemaker who poured her love into her family and those she held close. Sassy as they come, she was known for her quick wit, strong spirit, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. She had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, whom she truly adored.
She is survived by her two sons, James Shamblin and Willie Huckabee; her beloved grandson, Will Huckabee; her brother, Earl Ray Knight; and her cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Huckabee; and her brothers, Buck Knight and Ricky Gene Knight.
Brenda also shared a very special bond with Shelia Orr, whom she lovingly referred to as “the daughter she never had.”
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
