Carl Ellis Giddens, 78, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.
He was born Sept. 5, 1946 in Sampson County, a son of the late Bert and Carrie Ingram Giddens.
Carl loved the Lord and was a member of Abundant Life Church. He retired from North Carolina Natural Gas. He enjoyed water sports, playing the guitar and riding his motorcycle. Later in his adult life he began taking piano lessons and martial arts.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Abundant Life Church with the Rev. Joe Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Surviving are his wife 49 years, Marsha Webb Giddens; two sons, Carl E. Giddens Jr. and Joel M. Giddens; grandchildren, Cody Giddens, Alex St-Ives, Cali Giddens, Braxton Giddens and Kaiden Giddens; three sisters, Linda Hair, Joyce Crisp and Carolyn Tew.
