OBITUARY: Carol Hendon Hardison

Carol Hendon Hardison, 65, died on July 9, 2025, of a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born to Adam Hardison and Joan Ramsey Hardison on July 1, 1960. The youngest of five children, she grew up in Wadesboro, and was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.

Carol graduated from St. Mary's High School in Raleigh, and from the University of Georgia with degree in accounting. In 1991, Carol moved from Raleigh to Taos, New Mexico. During the following 32 years, she raised her four children and continued her career in accounting. She moved back to North Carolina in 2023.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Adam M. Hardison, and step-father, Russell Bennett.

She is survived by her children, Snowflower Romero, Fawn Romero, Lake Romero and Brook Romero; also, her mother, Joan Ramsey Bennett; her sister and brother-in-law Susan and David Wood; her sister Julia Hardison; and her brothers, Adam Hardison Jr. and Bryan Hardison.

Carol was eternally grateful for life, her children and her heritage. She loved her family, the mountains of North Carolina and New Mexico, and always marveled in the beauty of God's universe. She was a joy and will be missed by her loved ones.

A private memorial service was held for Carol.
