Carol Lane Hudson Berry, 79, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Mrs. Berry was born Oct. 14, 1945 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late William Lane & Wilma Maner Hudson.
She was a longtime member of Cartledge Creek Baptist Church. She taught in Scotland and Richmond counties and retired as assistant principal from Ellerbe Junior High School. Following her retirement she owned and operated Rockingham Christian Academy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Berry; a grandson, Allen Dawkins; and a sister, JoAnn DeBerry.
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth Berry and Lee Berry (Amy); grandchildren, Seth Dawkins, Damon Talley, Jack Berry, Coleman Berry and Ava Berry; great grandchildren, Tristan Dawkins, Sara Dawkins, Anna High, Emma Talley, Levi Talley and Emmit Talley; sister, Vickie Hardesty; brother, Lane Hudson; special cousin, Nancy Hudson Crook and special family friend, David Williams.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Cartledge Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Lutz and the Rev. Kane McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in the Dockery Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.
