Catherine Buckwell McGrew, 93, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 at her home.
She was born June 1, 1932 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Wilma Eddins Buckwell.
Mrs. McGrew worked at Rockingham Jr. High School for many years and was a member of Cordova Baptist Church. Catherine enjoyed fishing and working with crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bubba McGrew; brother, Tommy Buckwell and wife Edith Buckwell; sister, Jerry Huggins and husband James Huggins; and sister, Jackie Hurst and husband Jack Hurst.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with the Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. A private family burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Surviving are her sons, Billy McGrew and Dann McGrew and wife Rene; granddaughter, Mallory McGrew; a daughter-in-law, Tonya McGrew; and numerous nieces and nephews.
