Charleen Bailey Morrow, 79, of Rockingham, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026.
She was born on June 29, 1947, in Richmond County, to the late Eugene A. Bailey Jr. and Mollie Coward Bailey.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Bailey.
She is survived by her son, Lee Morrow and wife, Michelle of Florida; granddaughters, Alissa and Isabella; nephew, Chuck Bailey; niece, Anna Bailey; and special cousins, Carol Crawley and Susan Lovin.
“When I come to the end of my journey and I’ve traveled my last weary mile, just forget if you can that I ever frowned and only remember the smiles. Forget unkind words I’ve spoken; remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartaches and remember I’ve had loads of fun. Forget that I’ve stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles and won, ere the close of the day. Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day, but in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay, and come in the shade of the evening when the sun paints the sky in the west. Stand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best.
