Crystal “Cris” Shy Beck, 56, of Rockingham, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Richmond County Hospice Haven, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 11, 1969 in Richmond County, daughter of Glenda Wilson and Carl R. Shy Jr.

For more than 20 years, Cris faithfully served as a district manager for Food Lion. She also served as an administrative assistant at Cordova Baptist Church, where her commitment to her faith was evident in all she did.

Above all, she was the most loving daughter, a devoted and faithful wife, a nurturing and proud mother, and an adoring Nana. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she was deeply committed to being present in their lives. Family was the center of her world, and she made sure each person felt cherished. She had a special love for the beach, where she vacationed every year, creating treasured memories with her family.

Her legacy is one of faith, strength, and steadfast love. She will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her dedication to her family, and the deep and abiding faith that guided her every step.

She will be profoundly missed and forever loved.

Cris was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Allyssa Jordyn Beck.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Lenny Lamar Beck of the home; son, Justin Lamar Beck (Betty Susanne Forbis) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Jayde Beck, Ellie Beck, Maddison Beck, Justin Beck Jr. and Jordan Beck; her mother, Glenda Wilson of Rockingham; her father and stepmother, Carl R. Shy Jr. and Barbara, of Hamlet; sisters, April Nicole “Nickie” Haywood (Chris), and niece, Hayley, of Hamlet and Shanna Denise Shy (Jason Capps) of Rockingham; and stepbrothers, Michael Stewart (Melissa) of Hamlet and Keith Stewart of Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, from 11 a.m.-noon at Cordova Baptist Church.

The funeral service will immediately follow visitation, beginning at noon, with Pastor Christopher Clark and the Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
