David Franklin Currie, 65, of Hamlet, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at his home.
David was a son of Irene and William (Frank) Currie, and he was born, April 9, 1959 in Richmond County.
David was a one-of-a-kind type of person. He was funny, quirky and had a heart of gold. For many years he worked for Cheerwine as a technician. He retired three different times but ended up back at Cheerwine working hard and faithfully.
David is survived by a daughter, Brittany White (John); a stepdaughter, Kristen Brown; one brother, James Currie (Terrie); six sisters, Carolyn Thomas, Donna Pope (Johnny), Teresa Garrison (Wayne), Shelby Cobler (Tommy), MaryAnn Jeffery and JoAnn Hussey; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a community of friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends for visitation, Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham. Funeral services will follow with the Rev. Mike Childers officiating. Burial will follow at McDonald Baptist Church Cemetery.
