Donald Ray Outen, 77, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 at his home.
He was born Sept. 28, 1948 in Mecklenburg County, a son of the late Curtis Lee and Billie Griffin Outen.
Don played football in high school and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a huge Carolina Panthers fan and loved to go deer hunting.
A private service for Donald was held earlier this week with military honors.
Surviving, his sons, Chris Outen of Albemarle and John Outen of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Miranda Outen of Ellerbe; great-granddaughter, Paisely West; brothers, Gary Outen (Alma) of Arizona; sisters, Pat Harris (Don) of Charlotte and Linda Whisler (Frank Dix); and numerous nieces and nephews.
