Donna Jay Taylor, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2026 at Richmond Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Hamlet.
She was born Dec. 18, 1948 in Aiken County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late David William and Mary Margaret Gunter Jay.
Donna was a member of Sweet Haven Church and retired from Medical Center Pharmacy. She enjoyed baking and entertaining for friends and her family at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Taylor.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in the chapel in Rockingham with the Rev. James Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Surviving, a sister, Phillis Grant; nephew, Scott C. Shirey; great-nieces, Katelyn, Savannah, Hailey and Evelyn.
