Donnie Dwayne Roscoe, 42, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Richmond.
He was born Feb. 19, 1981, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, son of Thomas Jeff Roscoe and the late Laura Jane Locklear Roscoe.
Donnie was quite the jokester and loved to make people laugh. He was a people person and never met a stranger. He enjoyed working on broken projects, putting things back together and was inquisitive on how things worked. He learned hands-on. He also enjoyed drawing and music.
Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roxanne Irene Roscoe.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Tanya Lee Roscoe of the home; daughter, Brooklynn Roscoe of Goldboro; father and stepmother, Jeff and Judy Roscoe of Hamlet; paternal grandmother, Ruby Irene Roscoe of Hamlet; brother, Jeff Roscoe (Jordan) of Bennettsville, South Carolina; stepsons, Christopher Strickland of Greenville, South Carolina, and Dustin Burr of Charlotte; stepbrothers, Nicholas Glaze and Jonathan Glaze, both of Hamlet; grandchildren, Cameron Kash Edens and Georgia Rayne Strickland; nieces and nephew, Madelyn, Natalee, and Sebastian; and aunts, Lucinda Taylor of Hamlet, Billie Roscoe of Rockingham and Joyce Jones of Laurinburg.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023 from 1-2 p.m. at King’s Gate Church, Hamlet.
The funeral service will begin, immediately following the visitation, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eddie McLean officiating. Burial will follow at Hudson Cemetery.
