Earl Dean Taylor, 79, of Rockingham, tragically passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, in Rockingham.

He was born in Richmond County, on Aug. 11, 1946 to the late Thurman Lewis Taylor and Beulah Mae Greer Taylor.

Dean was an outstanding member of Place of Grace where he also served as a deacon and was loved by so many. He was very well respected in the church as well as in the community.  As the son of a pastor, his faith in God was evident in the way he lived every day. He was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help anyone in need, always ready to lend a helping hand. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met.

His humor and funny personality often made people laugh without him even trying. He had the brightest smile and a heart full of kindness. To those who knew him, he was truly one of the greatest people you could ever meet and a beautiful example of what it means to live a Christian life.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Taylor; and sister, Margie Faye Harden Stewart.

Left to cherish his memories, his daughter, Tara Taylor (Wayne Bickel) of Rockingham; sons, Brad Taylor and Cam Taylor (Jenny), all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Ally Taylor, Chloe Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Riley Taylor, Sawyer Taylor, Zayden Blackwell, Easton Smith and Malakai Bickel; and brothers, Glenn Taylor of Rockingham and Raymond Taylor (Kathy) of Hamlet.

A visitation will be held at Place of Grace Church in Rockingham, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 6-8 p.m.
