Edward “Eddie” Emanuel Schnell III, 71, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Eddie was one of three sons of the late Edward E. Schnell II and Sada Allen Schnell. Eddie was born on Dec. 21, 1953 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Allen B. Schnell and James Van Schnell.
Edward had a college diploma in electronics and served in the United States Air Force for two years. He was a smart man, and he enjoyed working on cars in his free time. He was an avid photographer and would frequently go hiking with his friends in the Smoky Mountains and capture snapshots of the beautiful scenery.
Eddie is survived by his sister-in-law, Michelle Schnell; nephew, Kevin Schnell (Sabrina); niece, Ariel Schnell Johnson (Josh); grand-nieces and grand-nephews Scarlett Santaloci, Cirilla Schnell, Luna Schnell, Jerimiah Johnson, Loralie Johnson and Scottie Johnson; several cousins; and longtime friends, Rufus McLean and Billy Parsons.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at Richmond Co. Memorial Park Cemetery Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The Rev. Rufus McLean will officiate the service.
