Edward Lee Boone, 78, of Laurinburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born in Quinwood West Virginia. Edward lived a life defined by hard work and dedication to his wife and children. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. After returning home he spent more than two decades as a coal miner in West Virginia, followed by many years as a poultry farmer in North Carolina.
Edward is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Boone of Laurinburg; children, Grady Boone (Myrtle Beach), Casey Boone (Laurinburg); granddaughters, Mackenzie Boone and Reilly Boone, both of Wilmington; grandsons, Andrew Boone and Ethan Clover, both of Laurinburg; and daughter-in-law, Bianca Hartman (Wilmington).
He is preceded in death by his loving in-laws, Sweet and Alvertia McMann; and special aunt, Anna Daniel.
Eddie was known for his fierce strength, determination, resilience, and quiet dry sense of humor. He enjoyed reading, mowing his grass, playing golf, and simply being at home with Jo. He will be remembered for his grit, loyalty and quiet love he carried for his family.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
