Effat (Effie) Hajisheikh of Salisbury, formerly of Rockingham, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Effat was born on May 31, 1934 in Kermanshah, Iran.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Moosa.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary (Peter) Dunn and Azita (Kris) Watson; five grandchildren, Dr. Taylor Jacobsen (Jake), Dr. Lauren Dunn, Dr. Samantha Jung (River), Andrew Watson and Christopher Watson; and one great-grandson, Liam.
Effie (Grams) loved gardening, cooking, and hosting family and friends in her home. One of her greatest joys was supporting and watching her grandchildren grow up. She even recently had the joy of meeting her first great-grandchild.
Effie was a woman of extraordinary beauty, strength, and grace. She managed to live her life to the fullest, and this, in turn, always had a positive impact on those around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be dearly missed.
To honor Effie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family gathered on Sunday, May 24, 2026 to celebrate her life.
