Emily Richardson Keel went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 27, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 13, 1957, in Pinehurst, to the late Edward Hastings Hawks and the late Margaret Baxley Hawks.
Her greatest joy was being “MawMaw” to her seven grandchildren. Emily’s happiest times were spent at Holden Beach watching the sunrise and collecting shells. She is now walking the beaches of gold, collecting shells in her new body.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Josh Richardson and wife Hannah of Ellerbe, Sam Richardson and wife Jennifer of Rockingham; grandchildren, Garret Richardson and fiancé Jordyn Morse of Hampton, Virginia, Lane Richardson and Jake Richardson of Ellerbe, and Natalie Richardson, Olivia Richardson, Sadie Richardson and Samuel Richardson of Rockingham; siblings, Edna Maynor and husband Jim, Danny Hawks and fiancé Patty, Laurie Hawks-Saultz and husband Bill all of Ellerbe, and Marian White and husband Danny of Rockingham.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 3-4 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Ellerbe. At other times, the family will receive visitors at the home of Josh & Hannah. The memorial service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 4 p.m.
Burial to be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church for the church bus account, 138 Wallace Road, Ellerbe 28338.
