Eva Stokes Smith, of Hamlet, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2025 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
She was born Jan. 10, 1935 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Frank Stokes and Becky Brock Stokes.
She lived with her nephew, Dennis Canter, who was her caretaker. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lester Stokes, Artis Stokes, Oscar Stokes and Frank Stokes Jr.; and sisters, Myrtle Parker and Emily Willoughby.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 1021 E. Washington St., Rockingham.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 at Northam Cemetery, Northam Cemetery Road, Rockingham.
