Frances Dobbins Shepard, 91, of Rockingham, passed away surrounded by her loving family Thursday, June 19, 2025.
Frances was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Allred Dobbins and was born Oct. 22, 1933 in Richmond County.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Angela Szpatura and husband Ron Szpatura of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Gladys Shepard of Rockingham; and son-in-law Jerry Fisher of Burlington.
Along with her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Shepard Jr.; and daughter, Rachel Shepard Fisher; also by her brothers, Thomas Allred Dobbins, John Curtis Dobbins, Samuel Lamar Dobbins; and half-brothers, Pat Green and Scarboro Green.
Along with her late husband, Roy, she was an owner of Shepard Auto Parts, and she was a longtime member of First Methodist Church in Rockingham. She was a part of the Alan Smith Bible Class, as well. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings.
Frances loved arranging flowers, decorating her home for the season, playing card games, and needlework. She was a 1951 graduate of Rockingham High School.
Funeral services will be conducted at First Methodist Church in Rockingham at 11 a.m. Tuesday July 1, 2025. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, June 30, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
