Gary “Todd” Gibson, 64, of Rockingham, gained his wings in the late hours of Tuesday, May 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1961 to the late George Gerald Gibson and Sandra Faye Hammond Bowman.
Todd was the best husband, who loved bowling, the beach, and his beloved dogs. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Byrd; stepdad, Steve Bowman; and his adored fur baby, Sheba.
Left to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Jean Shepard Byrd Gibson of the home; son, Ronnie Ray Gibson (Amanda) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Brandon Ingram, Anna Clarke and Justin Ingram (Kiah); brothers, Tracey Gibson (Charlene) of Rockingham, Larry Gibson of Chesterfield, South Carolina, and Wayne Gibson of Raeford; and sweet fur baby, Toby Keith.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham, with Ben Moss officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
