George Harvey Parks Jr., 61, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sept. 16, 1964, in Hamlet, son of the late George Harvey Parks Sr. and Betty Strickland Parks.
In prior years, George worked with the Laurel Hill Paper Company. He enjoyed many things in life including fishing, shooting pool, basketball, and playing with his dogs. He was a huge Carolina Panthers fan and loved supporting them during football season. Of everything he loved, his greatest joy was his family — he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. George will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Aaron Sellers.
Left to cherish George’s memories are his loving, devoted wife, Teresa Gail Parks, of the home; daughters, Cynthia Sellers and Sarah Graham, both of Rockingham; grandchildren, Sarah Sellers, Grace Crenshaw, Nolia Johnson, Joshua Wallace, Bryan Portscheller Jr. and Nicholas Portscheller; great-grandchild, Serenity Wallace; and dear friend, Jeff McCormick.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 2-3 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.
The funeral service will immediately follow visitation, beginning at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, with Gerald Mabe officiating. Burial will be held private.
