Gwendolyn Faye Robinson, 87, of Rockingham, passed away at home on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025.
She was born on March 1, 1938 in Richmond County to the late Silas Solomon and Nettie Dawkins Solomon.
Faye was a very classy, loving lady who loved to play the piano. She started playing when she was 8 years old. She loved old gospel music. She has played in several traveling gospel groups as well as many different churches when needed. Her heart was for her home church, Cobb Memorial Baptist Church. Her second-favorite piano player is Rob Hodges, and her first favorite was herself! She would always thank you for coming and she loved everyone.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Gary and Keith Schultz; and nephew, Michael Solomon.
Faye is survived by her brother, Jimmy Solomon of Hamlet; and nephews, Bryan Solomon (Kristie) of Hamlet and Stephen Solomon of Union County.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025 at 3 p.m. at Cobb Memorial Baptist Church, Rockingham.
