Harold Wayne McDonald, 81, of Rockingham, completed his earthly journey on Friday, July 10, 2026 at his home.
Harold was born March 2, 1945 in Richmond County, a son of the late William and Grace Dunn McDonald.
He had worked as a mechanic and also with Pepsi Cola and Merita Bread Company. He loved cars, motorcycles, fishing and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Dianne Buck McDonald; children, H. Wayne McDonald Jr., Robert L. “Robbie” McDonald and David A. McDonald; grandchildren, Britanee McDonald, Kristen Knight, Grant Knight, Chelsea Thompson, Jessie Clifton and Devin Clifton; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Norton, Serenity Wallace and Emily Sumter; and siblings, Lara Nowell, Kenneth McDonald, Mark McDonald and Mary Grace Covington.
The family will receive friends from 12:45–1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. A celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Richardson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
