Helen Taylor Brown, 91, of Florence, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice House on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.
Helen was born on March 20, 1934 in Richmond County to the late Jesse and Lela Gillis Taylor.
After graduating from Rockingham High School, she began her career in banking as a teller, before becoming a loan officer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hamlet.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Earl Brown; and siblings Jerry Taylor and Bobby Taylor.
Those left to cherish her memory: daughters Kathy Hatfield and Debbie Wilson (Michael); grandchildren Michael Wilson Jr. (Whitney), Patrick Hatfield and Courtney Dawkins (C.J.); great-grandchildren, Lillian Grace Wilson and Harper Elizabeth Dawkins; brother Terry Taylor; and many extended family, including special niece Sherry Smith (Joe), that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Hamlet with the Rev. Dan Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Hamlet.
