He was born Oct. 18, 1937 in Catawba County, son of the late Odes Atwell Eades and Pearl Alexander Eades.

Jack lived a life defined by dedication, hard work, faith, and love for family. He spent more than 50 years in the telecommunications industry, working for Western Electric and AT&T, where he built a respected career and formed lasting friendships.

Prior to recent years, a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Hamlet, Jack found strength and fellowship through his church family. He enjoyed staying active and healthy, spending time at the gym, exercising, and keeping himself in good shape. He also took great pride in gardening and yard work.

Known for his sharp mind and competitive spirit, Jack was a champion player of checkers, chess and backgammon. Whether playing a game with friends or teaching others, he enjoyed the challenge and camaraderie these games brought.

Above all else, Jack cherished his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a hands-on Papa who delighted in being involved in their lives. His guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love created countless treasured memories that will be carried forward for generations.

Jack will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering faith, kind heart, and deep devotion to those he loved. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched.

Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Nelson Eades; daughter, Kimali Eades; and brother, Jerry Eades.
