James Edward Martin (Jamie), 60, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at his home.
He was born March 7, 1964 in Richmond County, a son of the late Bobby Franklin Martin and Mary Rainwater Hudson.
Jamie worked with his brother, Joe, at Martin's Heating and Cooling for 20-plus years. He was an installer and an excellent fabricator and very hard worker.
He was a loving father, son and brother. Jamie was an outdoorsman who enjoyed doing yard work, hunting, fishing and boating with his family and good friend, Alden Ford.
A memorial service will be Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025 at noon at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham with James Mims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at his sister Sue Martin's home at 704 Deweese Ave. Rockingham.
He is survived by his sons, Brandon Martin (Katelyn), Brett Martin and Ryan Martin (mother Crystal Martin); and stepfather, Jack Hudson. He is also survived by siblings Garry Martin (Dava), Sue Martin, Darlene Kirkley (Billy), Stanley Martin and Joe Martin (Robin), Pam Hamrick (Bill); and grandchildren, Madyson and Cameron Martin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
