James Mason Downey, 66, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
He was born Nov. 27, 1958 in Mississippi.
Mr. Downey was a good man. He enjoyed being outside doing lawn care and just spending time outdoors. He loved watching movies, especially action movies and Godzilla.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Kelley Downey of the home; stepdaughters, Betty Conner of Albion, New York, and Leslie Greer (Roger) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Leslie and Tom Gordon, Joshua and Skye Alamo Kelley, Sesilia, Maida, Reinaldo, Christopher Conner Jr., Austen, Alexandra and Roger Jr.; and great-grandson, Nolan.
All services will be held private.
The family wishes to thank neighbor, Gloria Reaves, and David and Kim Calvert, as well as the staff of FirstHealth Richmond ICU and Reid Heart Center CCU, for the care and kindness shown to Mr. Downey.
