James William Baxley III, 74, of Rockingham, passed away May 30, 2026 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1951 in Moore County, a son of the late James William Baxley Jr. and Elizabeth Edwards Baxley.
James had Master’s degree from Pembroke College. He taught Conversational Spanish through Richmond Community College. He was also incredibly talented in playing several musical instruments. He loved traveling, flying on planes and taking cruises. He also enjoyed living in the country with his companion and the love of his life.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Baxley.

Surviving, his companion of 27 years, Geraldine “Gerry” Bostick; and a brother, Dennis Baxley and wife Melissa of Raeford.
