J.C. King Jr., of Rockingham, North Carolina, passed away on Jan. 2, 2026 at the age of 55.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1970, and was preceded in death by his father, J.C. King, and his mother, Judy King.
J.C. lived his life with a free spirit and a strong work ethic that defined who he was. A true jack of all trades, he had an exceptional ability to master any craft he set his mind to, taking pride in learning new skills and perfecting his work. He spent many years painting water towers — a job he genuinely loved and often spoke of fondly. Working with his hands and seeing the results of his efforts brought him a deep sense of fulfillment, and he continued doing what he loved until the very end.
J.C. also had a lifelong passion for vehicles, appreciating both the craftsmanship behind them and the freedom they represented. He found peace and happiness at the beach, where the sound of the waves and the open horizon reflected his love for life and adventure.
Beyond his work and hobbies, J.C. was known for his humor and quick wit, which brought joy to those around him. His laughter, lighthearted spirit, and bright outlook on life left a lasting impression on family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Paige King (26); his son, Travis Dwayne King (24); and his beloved grandchildren, Rayne Elizabeth Pressley (7) and Kayleigh Elizabeth King (4).
Private service arrangements are being handled by his children.
