OBITUARY: Jerry Malcolm Bullard Sr.

Jerry Malcolm Bullard Sr., 88, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at his home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1938 in Richmond County, a son of the late Mack and Virginia Burchette Bullard.

Mr. Bullard worked as a certified pipefitter with Local 162 in Ohio for many years.  Upon his retirement from that career (which he loved) he returned to his hometown of Rockingham. He did volunteer work with the local Our Daily Bread food ministry and was a member of the Rockingham Moose Lodge. He enjoyed driving around the countryside, spoiling his dogs Diamond and Duchess before they passed away, and spending time with his family. 

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with James Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service in the Watson-King Chapel.

Surviving are his children, Sandra Hicks (Steve) of Rockingham, John Bullard of Montana and Jerry M. Bullard Jr. (Becky) of Minnesota; grandchildren Amanda Martin, Dr. Cody Hicks, Michael Bullard, Kendra Halvorson (Matt) and Ashley Turner (Chris); great-grandchildren, Kynsleigh Cottingham, Jaxon Halvorson, Aberdeen Halvorson, Aeylish Halvorson, Neely Turner and C.J. Turner; and sister, Melinda McDowell, of Rockingham.
