Jimmy Ray Dennis, 71, of Rockingham, went on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2026.
He was born in Scotland County on Jan. 1, 1955 to the late Sidney Dennis and Mary Alice Williams Dennis.
Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Dennis.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father and Poppy. He was a talented man who could build a car or a house. We know we will see you again!
Forever loved and missed by all.
Jimmy is survived by the love of his life of 45 years, Judi Dennis; four daughters, Renee, Jessica (Robert), Heather and Crystal; grandsons, who were the joys of his life, Jason and Jeremiah; grandchildren, Chelsea, Brian (Haley), Samantha, Erin and Nicholas; great-granddaughter, Hartley; sisters, Mattie Smith and Margo Johnson; his nephew who was like a son to him, Davey Carpenter and his wife Angel; and a very special niece, Michelle Yates.
A funeral service will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rockingham on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Chuck McKnight officiating.
Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Following the graveside, the family will receive visitors in the church fellowship hall.
