Jody Phillip Hornbuckle, 54, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 18, 2025.
Jody was born on June 29, 1970, to Bobby and Sarah Hornbuckle.
He grew up in Cordova and met some of his closest friends there. He began his career at Fruit of the Loom in Rockingham and then continued work at INA Bearing in Cheraw. The last few years of his life were spent with his family and friends creating memories that would last.
Jody was preceded in death by his father, Bobby.
He is survived by his mother, Sarah Collins Hornbuckle; sister, Jamie Hornbuckle Jenkins (Keith and Kerra); two daughters, Kendall Hornbuckle and Sonya Howlett; two granddaughters, Aubrii and Ada Keel; and his beloved cat, Luna.
He also has two nephews that were like sons to him, T.J. Pearson (Alexis) and Nathan Simmons. He had an immense love for his friends that he has had since childhood. He cherished all the time he got to spend with them in these last few years.
Whether he liked to admit it or not, he was hilarious and always created laughter wherever he was. His presence will be missed forever.
A celebration of Jody’s life will be held at Harrington Funeral Home, on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 from 3 to 5 p.m.
