John Philip Perry Jr., 62, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond.
He was born July 8, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts, son of the late John Philip Perry Sr. and Carol Ann Matthews.
John was a devoted fiancé, father, papa, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. A man with a heart full of kindness, John’s love for his family and his beloved dogs, Harley and Raven, knew no bounds. He cherished every moment spent with his fiancé, children, grandchildren, dogs, family, and all those he held dear.
John had a passion for life and a special place in his heart for his Harleys and cars. Whether he was tinkering under the hood or revving up an engine, he was in his element when surrounded by anything with a motor.
But more than his mechanical skills, John had a natural gift for helping others. Whether family, friends, or even a stranger in need, he was always there to lend a hand- never asking for anything in return. John was a selfless man that thought more about others than he thought about himself. His love, generosity, and unwavering kindness touched everyone who knew him.
John leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and a reminder to always lend a hand, follow your passions, and love deeply. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
Left to cherish his memories are his fiancé, Jodi Swanson, of the home; daughters, Samantha Fencer (Will) of St. Albans, Maine, Shelby Greeley (Kevin) of Foxboro, Massachusetts; sons, Michael Perry (Samantha) of Taunton, Massachusetts, and Robert Swanson (Megan) of Rockingham; sisters, Maryellen Gatto (Paul) of Berkley, Massachusetts, and Linda Speranza (Rich) of Attleboro, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Brock, Scarlett, Greyson, Raelyn, Mia, Madison, Macey and Alice; mother-in-law-to-be, Donna Swanson of Hamlet; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
All services will be held private by the family.
