Johnsie Morrison, 99, of Hamlet, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
She was born Aug. 20, 1925 in Hamlet, daughter of the late Edison Morrison and Fannie Smith Morrison.
Johnsie was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Hamlet. She loved her church and church family. She also enjoyed working with Richmond County Social Services for more than 55 years. Johnsie was a diligent, hard-working lady that enjoyed her job and her work family throughout her long tenure.
The most important part of her life was her family. She played an important part of her family with her brothers, nephews and niece, and her great-nephews and great-nieces. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Everett J. Morrison and Ernest E. Morrison; and nephews, James Morrison and David Morrison.
Left to cherish Johnsie’s memories are her nephews and niece, Calvin Morrison (Ann) of Vass, Charles Morrison (Wendy) of Hamlet, Ernest Morrison of Raleigh, Deborah Sears of Hamlet, and Diane Jackson of Hamlet; and several special great-nephews and great-nieces.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 1-2 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.
The funeral service will begin immediately following visitation, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
