Judy Byrd Barcome, 72, of Rockingham, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Richmond County Hospice Haven, surrounded by family.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1953 to the late Charles Eugene Byrd and Evelyn Norris Byrd.
Judy was a wonderful homemaker who loved God, first and foremost. She loved her family, animals, flowers, and baking. Her family remembers her a jokester who loved to travel.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Benson, Michael Quick Jr. and Caleb Bundy; brothers, Larry Byrd, Dean Byrd, Ralph Byrd and Charles Byrd (Eloise); and sisters, Jeannette Shutt and Brenda Coleman.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Tina Lynn Cummings (Junior) of Hamlet; son, Ricky Allen Buck; brothers, Woody Byrd (Betty Lou) of Laurinburg, Frankie Byrd (Vicky) of Florida, Mike Byrd of Laurel Hill, and Jim Byrd (Jean) of Laurinburg; sisters, Lorraine Latham (Dennis) of Kansas, and Ann Brooks (Terry) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Misty Benson (Robert) of Rockingham, Lori Cooke (Andy) of Hamlet, Brandy Oxendine (Jason) of Hamlet, Dakota Cummings (Quston) of Hamlet, and Laylah Brown of Hamlet; great-grandchildren, Bella Cummings, Carlee Hudson, Jaxon Cooke and Colton Cooke; special nieces, Margaret Barnes and Tiffany Smoot; and special friend, Ms. Lauren of Rockingham.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 1-2 p.m. at Hillside Freewill Baptist Church in Laurinburg. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Woody Byrd officiating.
At other times the family will be receiving visitors at her daughter’s home in Hamlet.
