OBITUARY: Kenneth Reid Webb

Mr. Kenneth Reid (Joe) Webb, of Rockingham, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond.

He was born Dec. 25, 1943 to the late Robert Reid Webb and Elma Long Webb.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother; his daughter, Kristen Rose Webb; his son, Robert Kyle Webb; and his beloved wife, Rose Johnson Webb.

Joe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Julie Webb. He is also survived by his special friend, Dianne Cannon.

Joe graduated from Rockingham High School and King's Business College in Charlotte. Joe fondly recalled being part of the first group of students who walked from their old elementary school to the brand new L.J. Bell Elementary School. Joe proudly served in the United States National Guard. Joe enjoyed working with his Uncle J.M. “Knock” Long, at JM Long Construction.

Joe was known for his kind and generous nature and loved to share a cute joke or funny story with others. When he could, he loved to grow a vegetable garden and share his bounty with others. Joe loved his tractors and drove his antique Allis Chalmers tractor in the Ellerbe Farmers Day Parade. He thoroughly enjoyed driving the children around on a hayride at the church’s Fall Festival. Joe enjoyed fishing with his buddy, Tommy Talbert, and being a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at McDonald Baptist Church Cemetery, where he grew up attending with his parents. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bryan Blackwell. The family will receive visitors in the fellowship hall after the service.
