Kevin Charles Andrews, 63, of Hamlet, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at his home.
He was born March 12, 1960, in Lafayette, Indiana, son of Paul R. Andrews and the late Leota “Lee” Rohrman Andrews.
Kevin graduated from Central Catholic High School, Lafayette, Indiana, class of 1979. He was a member of the state football Championship team, Class A, in 1976. After high school, he went on to receive his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Vincennes University in 1981.
Kevin proudly served in the United States Army and served honorably for nine years, prior to medical discharge. During his military career, he served in the Panama Invasion as well as the Persian Gulf War. He was a decorated war veteran including National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation Medal.
Kevin enjoyed spending time riding his Harley-Davidson with family and friends, and traveling with his family, especially to the beach. He also loved time with his North Carolina family, being affectionately known as “Papa Kev” and “Pa Kev.”
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leota “Lee” Rohrman Andrews.
Kevin is survived by his father, Paul R. Andrews of Lafayette, Indiana; siblings, Bill Andrews (Ann) of Bethany, Oklahoma, Jim Andrews (Candie), Mark Andrews (Ginger), Leslie Eaton (Gary), and Kim Orbik, all of Lafayette, Indiana; his North Carolina family, Makayla Leviner, Dakota Leviner, Cheyanne Mabe, Huntley, Carson, Everleigh, Gracelyn and Madalyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, Indiana, with burial to follow the service.
