Laura Lynn Goodwin Crook, 57, of Rockingham, passed away peacefully on Sept. 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at her sister Donna’s home in Wadesboro.
She was stricken with metastatic lung cancer that spread to her brain. She was known for her spunky, outgoing personality and always speaking her mind.
She was loved beyond measure and will be missed so very much!
Laura was born in Rockingham, North Carolina, on Jan. 7, 1968 to Edna Goodwin and Frank Goodwin. She was the youngest of eight children.
Laura is survived by: her children, Angela Do of Rockingham and Jeremy Brown of Wadesboro,; her siblings, Libby McDonald of Rockingham, Diane Adams of Clover, South Carolina, Frankie Croom of Cordova, Elaine Gibson of Roberdel, Donna Huntley of Wadesboro; Brenda Sanford of Hamlet and Leroy Goodwin of Rockingham; and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Laura Lynn is preceded in death by her son, Little Jim Brown; her mother, Edna Goodwin; her nephew, Lonnie McDonald; and her two nieces, Jennifer Lynn and Carrie Ann Arnette.
She loved her family very much and we sure loved her. As she would always say:“It’s never goodbye...it’s always see ya later!"
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held by her loving family and close friends.
