Lena Cribb Pope, 91, went to her Heavenly home surrounded by love, Friday, March 28, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Ora Cribb, born Sept. 29, 1933. She was married to John B. Pope Sr. for 56 years before his passing in 2006.
She is also preceded in death by her children, Ronnie Pope and Lisa Pope Wright; grandchildren, Rebecca Pope, Norman Jean Harding, Misty Shy, Macie Taylor and Shannon Patrick; and brothers and sisters, Wesley Cribb, Buddy “Robert” Cribb, Inez McKnight, Mary Robertson, Elizabeth Stewart, Virginia Jones and Rosa Lee Jones.
Surviving are her children, Debbie Pope, Sandra Deese, Cyntia Porter, Paige Pope all of Rockingham, and John B. Pope Jr. and wife Donna of Little River, South Carolina; siblings, Robert “R.P.” Sonny Cribb and wife Sharon of Greensboro, Patsy Cribb Kluttz and husband George of Salisbury; a host of nieces and nephews; her dog companion, Callie Pope; special friends, Bim Boe Wilkes, Debbie Gant, Roxanne Keane, Jenny Reynolds, Elaine White; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 30, 2026, 2:30 p.m. at Sweet Haven Church in Rockingham with the Rev. Mitchell Roller and the Rev. Kane McKenzie officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.
The family is meeting at her daughter's home, 105 Valley Hill Drive, Rockingham. Any flowers can be sent to the home.
