Linda Maulden Jones, 81, of Shallotte, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.

She was born July 21, 1943, in Richmond County, daughter of the late Thomas Charles Maulden and Margaret Brown Taylor.

Linda Jones was a woman of deep faith, loving God above all else and striving to keep those around her walking a chalk line. She lived with fierce determination and an unshakable will — when she set her mind to something, she made it happen one way or another.

She always carried herself with confidence, never leaving the house without her jewelry, hair done up, and a touch of style. No matter her age, she wanted to stay in fashion, often turning to her granddaughters to keep her up to date on the latest trends.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — birds singing outside her window, adding to her cherished collections of whatever the trinket of the month was, and the peaceful rhythm of tending to her garden.

Her creativity shone through in her painting and craft projects, always finding ways to make something beautiful. She had a sweet tooth and was never without a stash of snacks, always ready to share her butterfingers and jumping at the chance to grab a molten lava cake from Chili’s.

Kids' infectious laughter could light up her day, and when there were no kids around, she could be found roaming the halls of Autumn Care, proudly showing off the latest picture of her great-grandson, Lincoln. She also had a particular way with pets and didn’t care for most of them but Charlie, Pixie, and Lucy earned a spot and held a special place in her heart.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Ray Jones and Douglas Richard Eaton; son, Donald Ray Jones Jr.; brother, Thomas Charles Maulden Jr.; and sister, Betty Smith.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Debbie Colley (Larry) of Ocean Isle Beach and Tracie Heslep (Danny Taylor) of Rockingham; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and sister from another mother, Kaye Daughtrey of Hamlet.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1-2 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.

The funeral service will begin, immediately following the visitation, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.

In honor of Linda Jones' vibrant spirit and love for bright colors, the family kindly requests that guests refrain from wearing black and instead wear colorful attire to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Linda Jones’ memory to support the creation of a memorial garden at Autumn Care, where she resided. Contributions can be sent to Autumn Care of Shallotte, NC. Please note 'Memorial Garden for Linda Jones’ in the memo line.

Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Jones family.
