Linda Patterson Hyatt, age 81, of Wallace, South Carolina, died Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at her home.
She was born in Hamlet, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William Lloyd Patterson and Dorothy Taylor Patterson.
Linda was the owner of Hyatt’s Auction and Appliance. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hyatt; her brothers, William Lloyd Patterson and James Richard Patterson; and sister, Norma Jean Patterson.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tammy Lynn Hyatt, and son-in-law, Gregg Childers, of the home, Anita Kelly of Wallace, South Carolina, Christopher Hyatt, and daughter-in-law, Ashley Holman of Wallace, South Carolina, Brent Hyatt of Rockingham, and Michael Hyatt of Wallace, South Carolina; stepchildren, Teresa Smith (Tim) and Howard Hyatt Jr. of Bennettsville, South Carolina; brothers, Donald Patterson (Cheryl) and Jerry Patterson (Debbie) of Hamlet; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 2-3 p.m. at King’s Gate Church in Hamlet.
The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 3 p.m. with Pastor Eddie McLean and Becky Nance officiating. Entombment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the family home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tammie Hogan, Amy Lawrence, Nikki Wiese and Jamie Norton for helping take care of Mama. Also, the family extends gratitude to Agape Care of South Carolina, nurses Lizzy McCaskill, Carmen Smith and Charmaneta Covington for their gentle guidance and care during this time.
