Linda Sue Smith Robinson, 69, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 20, 1956 in Hamlet, daughter of the late Leo Payton Smith and Josephine Wilkes Smith.

Sue worked in previous years with Sara Lee Hosiery as well as a social worker with Richmond County Social Services.  In her years prior to retirement, she worked alongside her husband at Kountry Mart/Robinson’s Store on Highway 38 at the stateline.

She loved spending time at their beach house in Myrtle Beach, along with her family and friends.  Spending time with her grandchildren was a highlight in her life and she loved them dearly.

Her granddaughter, Avree, penned these words: “My Mimi was a selfless woman with a heart of gold. She had her ways of loving people loudly and making sure you were watched over. She was more than a Mimi — She was my angel.  I carry her contradiction within me: the courage to stay kind, and the strength to stay certain.  I’ll forever be a Mimi’s girl.”

Along with her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Earl “Logen” Henry Robinson; son, Joseph Earl Robinson; and sisters, Caroline Voorhees and Barbara Garon.

She is survived by her daughter, Megan Robinson of Bennettsville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Braxton Robinson (Beth), Avree Robinson and Nate Long, all of Bennettsville; great-grandson, Landry Joseph Robinson; sisters, Ruby Sorrentino (John) of Conway, South Carolina, Brenda Arabia of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Wanda Cox (Warren) of Conway, South Carolina, and her twin sister, Glenda Robinson (Pete) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brothers, Billy Smith (Eileen) of Conway, South Carolina, Danny Smith (Shirley) of Hamlet and Michael Smith (Julia) of Leland,; best friend, Lydia Crank of Rockingham; special niece, Deana Blackburn and special great-nephew, Michael Dean Blackburn; along with numerous other extended family that loved her dearly.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. at Nebo Wesleyan Church, Hamlet.

The graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at Nebo Wesleyan Church Cemetery, beginning at 3 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Collins and Pastor Lloyd O. Grant Jr. officiating.
