Posted

Lorraine Paul Honeycutt, 77, of Hamlet, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026 at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 9, 1948, daughter of the late Johnnie Paul and Lois Beatrice Hodges Paul.

Lorraine was a devoted member of King's Gate Church, where her love for her church was a central part of her life.

For more than 30 years, she opened her heart and home to numerous foster children. She had a true servant’s heart and a deep calling to care for children.

Lorraine loved cooking and was especially known for her homemade biscuits. She enjoyed working with Abbott Laboratories in Laurinburg for more than 20 years as well as working alongside her sisters, in later years, at Our Daily Threads.

She cherished her family deeply and had a special love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Her life was a beautiful example of faith, service and love.

Lorraine will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness, faith and devotion to family and church will live on.

Along with her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Honeycutt; brother, Don Paul; and sisters, Cathy Manship and Faye Holder.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Craig Wilkerson and Robert Wilkerson, both of Hamlet, Scottie Honeycutt (Nancy) of Lilesville, Rose Cook (Eustus) and Kelli Honeycutt, both of Rockingham; grandchildren, Jonathan Wilkerson (Kaylee), Alston Wilkerson (Rachel), McKenzie English (Austin), Micaela Wilkerson, Nick Wilkerson, Amber Williams (David), Kalynn Honeycutt, Rachel Watson, Brock Watson, Garrison Honeycutt, Maggie Cook, Justin Cook and Conner Honeycutt; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Sellers of Bennettsville, South Carolina, and Sandy Scott of Marston; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, from 1-2 p.m., at King’s Gate Church in Hamlet.

The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2 p.m., with Pastor Eddie McLean and Jonathan Wilkerson officiating.

Burial will be held privately.
