Marico “Marcy” Smith Hatcher, 68, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 20, 1958 in Hamlet, daughter of Frances Leviner Smith and the late J.D. Smith.
Marcy loved the beach and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family who loved her.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ronnie English.
Left to cherish Marcy’s memory is her son, James White of Hamlet; grandchildren, Hailey Pittman, Erika Deberry, Anakin White and Nealey Lovin; mother, Frances Smith of Bennettsville, South Carolina; sister, Dale English of Bennettsville, South Carolina; niece, Mandy Shaw (Marcus), and great-niece, Miley Shaw.
No formal services will be held at this time.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Dale English.
