Mrs. Martha Faye Bullard Thomas, age 91, of Rockingham, passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Faye was born in Rockingham on Steele Street on April 11, 1934 to the late Roy and Janie McKenzie Bullard, both of Rockingham.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Isabel Bullard Pressley and Marie Bullard Williams; and her brother, Jim Bullard.
She is survived by her sons, Jim (Jennifer) and Mike; daughters-in-law, Malinda and Julie; five grandchildren, Eddie (Christy), Robbie (Sierra), Kristin (Danny), Catherine (Matt) and Amanda (Jeremy); four great-grandchildren, Amelia, Evelyn, Jacob and Elaina; and nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog DeeDee, who all loved her very much.
Faye was a woman whose life reflected faith and love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, pouring her heart into her family with love and devotion.
She lived with strength and resilience — and a heavy dash of stubbornness — facing personal challenges with dignity. Her loving example is a treasure that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Those who knew her, knew Faye lived her faith daily, unashamed. She inspired everyone around her with her steadfast love. Her legacy will live on not only in her family, but in every life she touched.
The Family will receive friends for visitation at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6th, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to American Cancer Society. Their mission meant a lot to Faye, a two-time survivor of cancer.
