Michael Ray Banks, 66, of Hamlet, passed away on April 7, 2026, at Richmond Pines.
He was born in Richmond County on Nov. 15, 1959, to the late Henry Thomas Banks and Evelyn Louise Millen.
Michael, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wonder, and quiet joy. He was a man whose life was defined not only by his love for his family, but by the magic he brought into the lives of everyone around him.
Michael deeply loved and cherished his children, finding great joy in watching them grow and guiding them through life. He enjoyed every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with laughter, support, and unconditional love. His devotion as a father was evident in all he did, and his presence was a constant source of comfort and strength.
In his later years, Michael’s greatest pride was his three grandchildren, who lit up his world. Whether he was sharing stories, teaching them simple tricks, or simply spending time together, he found endless happiness in their laughter and curiosity. Known for his talent as a magician, Michael had a unique gift for turning ordinary moments into something extraordinary. His magic was more than sleight of hand — it was a reflection of his spirit: playful, creative, and full of wonder. He delighted in surprising others, especially his grandchildren, whose eyes would widen with amazement at every trick.
Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, his gentle humor, and the sense of enchantment he brought into everyday life. Though he may be gone, the love he gave and the magic he shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is deeply missed and forever remembered.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
