Michael W. “Mike” Ransom, 58, of Rockingham passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 14, 1965, in Richmond County to the late Dick Ransom and Jacque Ransom.
Mike was a graduate of Appalachian State University. He was the owner of Ransom Insurance in Ellerbe and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he often served as a deacon and RA leader. He also coached many boys and girls in baseball and softball.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Amanda; his two children, son Bryan, and daughter Abigail Paige. He is also survived by his mother, Jacque; his brother, Rob, and sister-in-law, Christy; his niece and nephew, Kenzie and Jake; and father-in-law, Johnny Crowson.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Delane Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at their home in Rockingham.
