Miriam Denise Vickers Lynch, 54, of Hamlet, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
She was born July 3, 1970, in Hamlet, daughter of Johnnie Vickers and the late Millie Stricklin Vickers.
Denise worked as a nail technician with TANAS Nail & Day Spa. She had a true passion for acting and attained roles in "Billy Bathgate," "The Ruby Bridges Story," and "Dawson’s Creek." Not only did she love acting, but she had a love of singing karaoke, especially Patsy Cline songs, and she enjoyed the music of Julian Lennon.
Denise’s favorite place to travel was Carmel, California, which she loved. And her favorite color was red. She had a love for animals as well and loved her grand fur babies.
Her love of family was most important to Denise and she was an amazing wife, mother, big sister, daughter, niece and friend. She remained witty and sassy until the very end. Denise will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Millie Stricklin Vickers; grandson, Theodore Parrish; and uncle, Ronnie Stricklin.
Denise is survived by her husband, David Lynch of the home; daughters, Brooke Barnett (Joseph Parrish) of Raleigh and Kayla Chapman (Samantha) of Jackson Springs; father, Johnnie Vickers of Hamlet; sisters, Jennifer Tomlinson (T.J.) of Clayton and Beth McFarland (Brandon) of Hamlet; special aunt, Nancy Stricklin of Hamlet; uncle, Jimmy Stricklin (Jean) of Hamlet; several cousins; god-brother, Dennis Cain of Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Johnnie Kay and Kane McFarland, Victoria, Marissa and Thomas Tomlinson.
A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at noon at Second Baptist Church, Hamlet, with Pastor Chris Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
