Morris Allen Guinn, 61, of Rockingham, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Pruitt Health, Rockingham.
He was born June 18, 1964 in Richmond County, son of the late James Roscoe Guinn and Jennie Mae Roscoe Guinn.
Morris was a loving, selfless man that loved everyone and cared deeply for his family, church families, and friends. Cherishing time spent with family was important to Morris. He was a skilled pianist and played for several area churches including Mt. Calvary Rock of Ages Church and The Sanctuary Church of Concord. He loved gospel music, with his favorite group being The Ward Sisters. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Airington Guinn; son, Jason Clayton; and brothers, James David Guinn and Johnny Guinn.
Morris is survived by his daughter, Jamie Cottingham (Robbie Baxley) of Hamlet; daughter-in-law, Rebba Clayton of Concord; grandchildren, Cody Howell (Hailey), Quentin Howell, Robbie Baxley Jr., Jackson Baxley and Amity Honeycutt Vidal; great-grandchildren, Stella and Olivia Howell, Bella, Eli and Itzell Vidal; brother, Jerry Guinn Sr.; and very special friends, Chris Mitchum, Patsy Mitchum, Mack David Lyles Jr., Dawn Wiles and Sheila Hartsell.
A celebration of life service will be on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 5 p.m. at Abundant Life Church, Rockingham, with Pastor Joe Wilkes and Pastor Donnie Nuttall officiating.
