OBITUARY: Pamela Marie Thomas Mizzell

Pamela Marie Thomas Mizzell, age 74, of Rockingham, passed away at her home on Feb. 14, 2026. 

Pam was born on Dec. 9, 1951 in Moore County to Taft and Bonnie Campbell Thomas.

She was a beautiful soul and a loving wife and mother. She was an ordained minister, a prayer warrior, a great cook and the dearest friend and sister you could ever have. She loved the Lord with all her heart and loved people unconditionally. When her health allowed, she enjoyed working with her flowers and she cherished her dog Charlie. The ocean was very special to her as she saw in it the handiwork and power of God. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Raymond Thomas and Furman Thomas, sister Rachel Thomas, and two infant siblings. 

She is survived by her beloved husband and helpmate, Michael Mizzell of the home; stepson, Michael Mizzell Jr. (Stacey) of Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina, and stepdaughter Kasey Mizzell;  son, Jimmy Strait (Jennifer) of Candor; daughter, Tracy M. McMillian (Jerry) of Rockingham; as well as six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Joyce Lovin of Rockingham, Jean Nesbitt (Danny) of Rockingham and Phyllis Harvel (Donnie) of Star.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Grace Fellowship Church of Rockingham with Pastor Roger Webster officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
