Pat Hunt Hinson passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at the age of 82.
Pat was born Aug. 21, 1942, to the late Coy and Martha McKenzie.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Art McKenzie; and her first husband, John D. Hunt.
Pat was a beloved lady. She was devoted to her family and was always a ray of sunshine to all she met. She spent her careered life as an office manager for the North Carolina Department of Corrections, where she devoted many years.
Pat was a talented piano and organ player, who greatly enjoyed the talent that God had given her. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and blessed all who could partake of her wonderful culinary delights.
Pat saw beauty in all of God’s creation, but especially loved birds and most of all Cardinals. Pat and Larry always loved to travel, spending time at the beach, or the mountains, but enjoyed the company of each other no matter where they went.
Pat loved her Lord and Savior, and her church and church family that He had blessed her with. Pat had a great love for all her family but held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. To know Pat was to love her, and there were many that did just that, she will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of many years, Larry Hinson; sons, Todd Hunt (Cristy) and Dean Hinson (Dana); grandchildren: Jordan, Emma and Brantley Hunt and Cooper Hinson; niece, Kelly Curlee; great nephew, Corey Curlee; and sister-in-law, Mitzi McKinzie; as well as her beloved dog of the home, Scooter.
The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Watson King Funeral Home in Hamlet. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Hinson Family Cemetery, in Lilesville, with the Rev. Allison Farrah officiating.
